German WW1 Trench Knife
An excellent private purchase knife, maker marked to the rarely seen manufacturer "Gebrüder Rauh", and dating from approximately 1915.
Horn grip is in perfect condition, having wonderful vertical strait ions ensuring a secure handhold regardless of conditions. The end of the grip is capped with a plate which could be of silver, which matches the ferrule. Finger guard forms a part of the one piece tang/blade and is in matching superb condition, much cross training being visible, and with the makers name and logo placed horizontally along the length of the blade, being "Gebrüder Rauh, Gräfrath-Sol."
Leather scabbard in excellent condition, having twin vertical lines to obverse and reverse, with a matching stitched seam to the reverse. Horizontal leather grip retainer still present with perfectly working snap clip.
A great example of a rare knife.
