German WW1 Trench Knife- Ed Wusthof

Superb trench knife manufactured in the WW1 period but almost certainly carried through the Third Reich. Horn grip in excellent undamaged condition and having what may be a silver top plate secured by two rivets. Silver ferrule slightly loose on the grip, which has moved slightly on the tang of the blade. All finish remaining to recurve cross guard. Single edged blade is in stunning condition having most cross grain remaining, razor sharp cutting edge, needle sharp tip and essentially no signs of age. Horizontally maker marked to the upper blade with the trident mark and the name "Ed Wüsthof Solingen"
Leather scabbard with matching silver chape is stitched to the rear. Securely sewn to scabbard is a leather belt loop (slight tear) and functioning grip strap.
Excellent example of a maker marked knife.
