Ww2 German Gauleiters Armband

This amazingly rare armband is believed to have belonged to a Senior Political Nazi Party Leader from Allenstein in East Prussia.
This government region was created on 1 November 1905 as the third East Prussian Regierungsbezirk out of the southern districts of the two original administrative regions,Gumbinnen and Königsberg, which had been established in 1815. It comprised the south of the former Duchy of Prussia; the lands of the Allenstein and Rößel districts had belonged to the Prince-Bishopric of Warmia, annexed by Prussia in 1772. In 1920 all the Allenstein Region plus the District of Oletzko was part of the Allenstein Plebiscite precinct, with the electorate voting for remaining with Germany by more than 97%.
Erich Koch (19 June 1896 – 12 November 1986) was a Gauleiter of the Nazi Party in East Prussia from 1928 until 1945. Between 1941 and 1945 he was Chief of Civil Administration (Chef der Zivilverwaltung) of Bezirk Bialystok. During this period, he was also the Reichskommissar in Ukraine. After the Second World War, Koch stood trial for war crimes in Poland and was convicted in 1959. He was sentenced to death, but this was commuted to life imprisonment the following year.
This double sided armband is richly woven with gold thread upon a light blue and yellow background. Wear commensurate with age.
