German WW2 Long Parade Dress Bayonet-Seilheimer
An interesting long bayonet which has a DAF emblem affixed to the obverse grip.
Hilt components in good condition, with some minor indentations to the pommel indicating use as a hammer. (Period photos exist showing bayonet hilts being used to pin up notices, affix bunting etc,). Chequered grip plates in excellent condition, the obverse plate having an insignia surface mounted, being a 14 tooth cog wheel enclosing a raised, stippled mobile swastica. Bright blade in mint condition having only the lightest "In and out" signs. The Paul Seilheimer logo of sitting dog with a sword in its mouth is on the upper reverse Ricasso. Black painted scabbard in excellent condition having do dents or damage of any kind. Some loss of finish to the reverse which would be covered by an appropriate frog.
