Personalised Third Reich Army Officers Dagger-Kolping
Not just a rare maker for Army daggers, but one having the original owners name beautifully engraved to the reverse crossguard!
Twelve leaf pommel having no damage and great detail to the acorn and oak leaf depictions around the circumference. Pumpkin coloured grip is perfect and superbly fit to the ferrule. Negligible wear to the crossguard eagle which has fine detail to the wing and breast feathering. All the artificial ageing and much age to toning remain to produce a truly stunning eagle depiction.
Engraved to the rear of the crossguard is the name “Mohle” which could be simple to trace with the relevant army lists. Leather blade washer remains in place beneath the crossguard. Bright blade has some minor nics to the edges which can be felt rather than seen. Reverse ricasso is stamped with the “Kolping” beer mug logo. Scabbard is undamaged and perfectly straight, having some age mottling, much of which could be cleaned if required, and is equipped with domed headed throat screws. Scabbard bands are securely attached and have highly detailed oak leaf enhancement.
A rare opportunity to acquire a potentially traceable officers dagger by a maker not often seen.
