German Youth Knife-Herder
Probably produced outside the wartime period, using all the tooling appropriate for the HJ knife, this version has an impressed emblem to the grip imitating the symbol used by the manufacturer, being Richard Herder of Solingen. All finish remains to the pommel, backstrap and finger guard which have no damage. Grip plates are perfect and correctly attached with domed rivets. Double edged blade is extremely sharp and has a needle point tip. Obverse ricasso marked “ Rich. Abr. Herder Solingen Germany”. Brown leather scabbard has a stitched join to the reverse and is reinforced top and bottom. Belt loop and integral cross strap is sewn to the upper scabbard area.
An interesting collectible in near mint condition.
