Third Reich Pioneer Bayonet-Selheimer
This long bayonet has the foreshortened crossguard which has become known as the Pioneer version, and is in excellent condition. Some minor bumps to pommel which has an operating push button. All finish remaining to backstrap and crossguard. A red felt plug remains in the rifle slot. Chequered grips in fine condition secured by domed headed rivets. Bright plain blade with no damage to the cutting edge and no loss of plating. The makers mark is prominent on the upper reverse ricasso. Undented scabbard with majority of original finish remaining and with spidering beneath the surface paint.
Excellent example of a difficult to find variation.
