Third Reich Kreigsmarine Officers Sword-Alcoso

An opportunity to acquire a beautiful naval sword complete with all accoutrements: Hangers, knot and storage bag.
This ordnance issued example is stamped “N2720”.
Lion head retains most of it guilding as does the beautifully engraved knuckle guard and backstrap. Both the highly detailed clamshell and the rear guard fold, the rear guard being stamped with a navy eagle and the ordnance number. All the grip wire is tightly wound about the grip which is undamaged. Wrapped in the correct tie about the ferrule is a nicely toned
navy knot having the “cats anus” fill to the acorn.
Plain, pipe back blade is in mint condition having a needle like tip, with the Alcoso trademark to the reverse ricasso. A red blade washer remains in place beneath the crossguard. Leather scabbard is in fine condition having only minor loss of finish. Highly detailed scabbard fittings are fixed with brass staples, one of which, to the upper fitting, is missing. The assembly number “18” is visible beneath the absent staple.
The two leather “dog lead” style hangers are present and in mint condition-rare to find these accoutrements in this magnificent condition. To complete this rig is an original grey felt, leather reinforced storage bag. Negligible wear or mothing.
Overall a magnificent example of a Third Reich Naval sword complete with all its accessories.
