Third Reich SA Marine Dagger-Häker
Whilst the origin of these daggers is still disputed, this dagger does not exhibit the hand painted characteristics of an NSKK dagger, but exhibits a black stained grip and anodised scabbard, making it a good candidate for an SA marine example.
Solid nickel crossguards without gau mark. Grip with perfectly inset rune and aluminium eagle. Bright blade in excellent condition with no damage to the edges and a sharp tip. Superb, black motto to the obverse with the rare Häker maker mark of bowler hatted man carrying an adze over his shoulder. The Gust. Häker, Stahlwarenfabrik, began in 1918. That same year it registered its trademark. Gust. Häker officially registered with the Solingen chamber of commerce on April 21, 1920. Scabbard is undented and complete with nickel fittings. All screws are present.
Fine example from an uncommon maker, priced fairly even if this were only a standard NSKK dagger.
