Third Reich K98 Bayonet Frog-SS Marked
A black frog of four rivet construction having some hardening of the leather but no damage to the lug hole. The reverse is not only stamped with SS runes, but with details of the capturing soldier who no doubt returned this trophy home. It also shows the town of capture as being Bocholt, a town only some 3 miles over the border into Germany from the Netherlands. Dated 1940, one can only assume this soldier was with the allied forces in Europe prior to the evacuation at Dunkirk.
An interesting and historical piece.
