Third Reich Luftwaffe Officers Dagger-Tiger
Making this Tiger particularly desirable is the dedication adorning the upper cross guard. In very small and perfect block lettering is inscribed:
“Zur Erinnerung an die letzten Rekruten 2.7.41” Perfect dark orange grip is slightly lighter to the reverse and has twisted brass wire set into the grooves. Highly detailed pommel with much hand enhancing particularly to the pebbled background. Crossguard eagle with no damage and a fine pebbled reverse. Leather washer remains within the lower recess. Blade has no nicks or other damage to the edges and a needle like tip. There is some age to the finish much of which could be judiciously cleaned. The prancing lion trademark of the tiger company is placed along the blade at the upper reverse ricasso. Scabbard has the aeroplane grey finish and is undented. Scabbard bands and rings are securely fixed and have crisp oak leaf decoration.
Fine example of a dedicated dagger by a less common maker.
