Third Reich Kreigsmarine Officer Dagger-WKC

Beautiful example of the orange handled WKC dagger with a plain blade, manufactured in the Weimar period and upgraded with a replacement pommel on Hitlers Birthday in 1938. Pommel has deep recesses where the wings fold over, and a wreath and swastica which are highly detailed. Grip is a stunning, age toned orange colour which is very dark in the grooves where the twisted brass wire sits, and slightly lighter to the reverse. Crossguard has anchor depictions visible beneath the correctly attached, period portepee which has the “cats anus” infil to the base of the portepee. There is no blade release button as is correct for this era of construction. Plain, plated blade grades mint, having a leather blade washer beneath the crossguard to protect it. WKC knights head logo is present on the ricasso. Scabbard is the standard lightning bolt design but has superb “twisted rope” scabbard bands and plain rings. Scabbard is undented and has dome headed, unturned screws securing the scabbard throat.
