Third Reich Army Officers Dagger-Puma-Named

A less common maker of Army daggers, Pumawerk (Lauterjung & Sohn) did however produce a quality item and this is reflected in this piece, which also offers the possibility of further research.
12 leaf pommel has no damage and all the factory darkening in the background. Orange trolon grip is perfect and fits the ferrule like a glove. Crossguard retains all its finish and is beautifully engraved “B.Langbein” to the reverse. Crossguard eagle is highly detailed and retains its factory darkening. A brown leather washer is in place beneath the crossguard. Bright blade has all its crossgrain and a factory sharp tip. Scabbard retains all its finish and has some age toning adjacent to the bands which could be removed if required, tho not recommended. Scabbard throat is retained by a single surface mounted screw to the upper reverse.
An excellent piece offering the chance of research to someone having access to the appropriate records.
