Third Reich TENO Honour Badge and Matching Case -1922
Constructed of gilded tombak with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a central enameled Technische Nothilfe (Technical Emergency Corps/TeNO) insignia in the form of a red enameled square overlaid by an enlarged black mobile swastika, in turn inset with a silvered cogwheel surrounding a hammer covered by a letter “N”. These enamelled components sit on top of a cogwheel on top of a diamond-shaped starburst, overlaid at the bottom by a banner bearing a date of “1922” with clusters of oak leaves emanating from each side. The whole is topped by a TeNo-style German national eagle. The reverse has a block hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch. Reverse is stamped with an issue number of “1336” and “Ges.Gesh. The pin is stamped with the makers name “ WILHELM FÜHNER, PFORZHIEM”, This mint condition badge sits within its original issue case constructed of a light wooden frame with a black faux leather exterior covering , the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted cream velvet medal bed. Box closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release. A matching issue number of “1336” is visible to the base of the case.
