Third Reich NSKK Dagger-Heidelberg
Not just an uncommon maker, but a black anodised scabbard finish, quite a desirable combination!
Nickel crossguards have deep accent grooves and that nickel silver “glow” we love to see from early pieces. Lower guard has the gau mark “s” to the centre reverse. Grip is a beautiful, deep chestnut brown and a superb original gloss finish, having the SA rune and the political eagle deeply inset. This dagger appears never to have been apart, all the components fitting together perfectly with no unsightly age shrinkage gaps around the grip/crossguard interface. Bright blade has much crossgrain remaining and a few minute “sword fighting” nicks to the edges, which can be felt with a finger nail, but not seen. The Heidelberg twin bottle logo is stamped to the reverse ricasso area. Scabbard is in fine condition having a smooth black “anodised” finish. Lower ball is undented and all fixing screws are present and appear unturned.
If you only want one NSKK, this could be it.
