Third Reich SA Dagger Vertical Hanger

This extremely rare hanger is one of the few patented designs passed by the Reich Patent Office, and was submitted by Gustav Habermann, a Saddler Master, in September 1934.
This submission is pictured in Ralf Siegarts book
“The Service Daggers of the SA and NSKK” along with line drawings, and instructions as to the correct use of this incredibly rare accoutrement, on pages 61 and 62. Made from very high quality leather, and marked D.R.G.M. to the reverse.
The high cost of this hanger, compared to local manufacture by an artisan, mean that very very few were ever worn.
It is unlikely you will ever see another, and certainly not in this condition.
