WW1 “Fumsup” Mascot
Silver body with an articulated wooden head, and arms that can be positioned to give a “thumbs up” gesture, these charms were given to British soldiers to carry into battle.
The charm combines two good luck traditions: the “thumbs up” sign, and “touch wood” by touching the wooden head.
This example is particularly nice being of silver with a detailed wooden head. The rear body has a raised patent number? whilst the torso is stamped “FUMSUP”.
An especially fine and collectible example
