Third Reich “Erased Röhm” SA Dagger-Eickhorn
Super example having the benefit of a “Tiger Stripe” Grip and a period applied leather covering to the scabbard.
Upper and lower crossguards have the deep accent grooves we associate with this producer, the lower guard having the Gruppe mark “No” to the obverse. As often seen on Eickhorn Röhms, the assembly number “4” is stamped beneath the crossguard.
Tang nut has very minor marking indicating disassembly at some point in the distant past. Grip on this piece is magnificent having dark stripes running horizontally through the wood, with the SA rune button and “high necked” eagle properly inset. Bright blade has a deeply etched motto to the obverse, with virtually no remnants of the Röhm dedication to the reverse. This enthusiastic removal has also lightly touched the 1933-1935 timeframe Eickhorn squirrel trademark, however it is still perfectly visible and heavily struck.
Scabbard fittings are in fine condition and retain their fixing screws. Brown pebbled leather covering to,the scabbard has been expertly applied and cut into the scalloped fittings, having no seam visible, and closely resembling the work seen on SA Honour Daggers of the period.
Excellent example with a beautiful grip.
