Third Reich NSKK Dagger with Vertical Hanger-Voos

This is an exceptional, early example which could be considered to be Marine NSKK due to the colour of the grip which is either very very dark brown or black.
The almost seamless join between grip and crossguards, and the damage free tang nut would indicate that this dagger has never been apart.
Crossguards are solid nickel having deep accent grooves , the lower guard being stamped “Nm” to the centre reverse and numbered “55486” to the centre obverse. Fine grip has the SA rune and early political eagle perfectly inset. Bright blade has some minor smudging and a needle like tip. The “Alles für Deutschland” motto is deeply stamped having a beautiful pebbled infil to the background of the letters. Reverse ricasso is stamped with the Emil Voos “snake around a tree trunk” logo.
Black painted scabbard has most of its finish remaining and has all the screws remaining to the fittings. Completing this exceptional example is an original, period vertical hanger, used for marching or field exercises to prevent “swing” of the dagger. “Coffin” shaped black leather hanger has perfect black leather and is of two piece construction: body has extended upper which is folded and riveted to enclose a spring clip at the top and scabbard support loop at the bottom. A separate leather strap runs through vertical slits in the backing to secure the grip. Spring clip is a very early pre RZM example which holds a belt loop having a pebbled brass coloured “D” ring.
