Third Reich Army Officer Dagger Hangers

A very rare, early set of hangers having very unusual characteristics. Upper box clip is brass based and decorated with oak leaves and acorns. Straps are attached to the clip by folded metal tabs secured by rivets and are also decorated. Buckles appear to be silvered brass and are in fine condition. One of the items found in the Princess Mary Christmas Gift Tin, this example is exceptional in that the pencil section is what appears to be a custom made propelling pencil. Perfectly fit to the “crown over M” cartridge case, the mechanism is a masterpiece of miniature engineering, and still operates perfectly.

WW1 “Fumsup” Lucky Charm

Brass body with an articulated wooden head, and arms that can be positioned to give a “thumbs up” gesture, these charms were given to British soldiers to carry into battle.
The charm combines two good luck traditions: the “thumbs up” sign, and “touch wood” by touching the wooden head.
