Japanese Sword-Miniature

Some sixteen inches in length, this example has highly detailed fittings at the crossguard area which appear to be of stamped brass, and are somewhat loose on the assembly. Grip appears to have a carved and decorated wooden base with a tight, strap-like covering through which the decoration may be seen. Pommel and ferrule also appear to be brass and have flower decoration. Bright blade is full length and void of any maker mark. Wooden scabbard has similar flower decoration to its fittings which include scabbard bands having a strap like suspension system attached. This strap has leather components.
