Leather on the short hanger is in good condition showing some age wear and cracking. The plated snap clip is marked "RZM M5/71". Matching leather belt loop is riveted at the lower end to retain a magnetic steel "D" ring.

Third Reich Luftwaffe sword Leather Hanger/Belt Loop

A very unusual adjustable tear drop hanger, which incorporates an aluminium pebbled "D" ring on a wide leather belt loop. Lower push in clip is also pebbled alluminium and functions perfectly. This type of hanger was worn extensively with the early first model Luftwaffe flyers dagger, but today is a rare survivor.
