This initial production dagger still has many of the characteristics of the 55cm “Long DLV” flyers dagger which proceeded it. Pommel and crossguard feature brass swastica inserts, scabbard has large staples for fixings and the chain and fittings are solid nickel.

A fine example of a “cut down” bayonet bearing the name “Heinrich Brecht, Munster” on the reverse ricasso. Origins of this name are unknown, perhaps a supplier contracted to carry out the shortening process, or distributor, or even a military outfitter in Munster.
