These lightweight bayonets were identical to those worn by police units with the exception of the absence of an insignia on the grip. Eagle head pommel has nice details to the neck feathering with some loss of finish and signs of use as a hammer during the period. This is an unusual piece being marked on the reverse crossguard as being property of the R.F.V. , or Reichsfinanzministerium, the ministry of finance for the German empire between 1919 and 1945.
