Near mint K98 having a rare “skeleton frog”.
No damage or other signs of misuse to backstrap, crossguard or pommel, which is waffenampt marked. Operating mortice button. Nicely toned wooden grips. Mint blade retains 99% of its bluing. Marked “43asw” to the reverse ricasso. Undented scabbard having waffenampt marked ball. Unusual skeleton style frog is of four rivet construction with securely fixed “cavalry style” grip strap. Maker marked and dated to the reverse. Wrapped about the frog is a period NCO portepee in mint condition.
