Third Reich TENO Subordinates Dagger-10074
Once a part of the renowned Barry Brown collection, this piece is probably the best example currently available on the collector market, and would be the highlight of any TENO collection. Grading near mint, this example retains all of the delicate plating to pommel, backstrap and crossguard, and still has the darkening to the pommel cog wheel and to the background of the crossguard eagle. This eagle has superb detailing and definition to wing and breast feathers, and with the talon decoration still prominent. The swastica which is clasped in the tallons has the lined background still sharp, and the TENO emblem well defined.
Off white celluloid grip plates are correctly secured by inset bolts and nuts and have no signs of damage whatsoever. If removed, these plates would no doubt have the Eickhorn squirrel logo to the inner face.
Bright ‘Bowie’ style blade has no nicks or other damage and is etched with the number 10074 to the upper blade beneath the crossguard eagle. A brown leather washer is still present beneath the crossguard. Reverse ricasso is etched with the TENO emblem and the ‘35-41’ Eickhorn trademark-the only maker of these heavy, iconic pieces.
Black enamel finish to the scabbard has one minute flaw to one edge, but is otherwise perfect and bright. Lower scabbard fitting is perfect and secured by correct ‘pan head’ screws which are vertically aligned. Upper fitting is similarly in superb condition with original, perfectly aligned screws. Scabbard throat is stamped with the matching issue number 10074
